BioMaybe being sleep-deprived doesn't muddle the mind and confuse the senses ... maybe it, instead, opens the mind to the cosmic Truth of reality.
And that Truth is ... painful. It hurts and it's bloody and it's guaranteed to leave scars. And it can't be expressed in words. Not in any way that makes sense, anyhow. It's about Math and God and Death and Physics all mixed up together and served with a dash of Levity and a side of Spite. It's about the Internet and Water Wheels and Sunshine and Spam. It's about Anger and the Ocean and Brick Walls and Melted Ice Cream. And Peppermints -- it's meaningless without the Peppermints.
And you can only see it all when you're broken. Sleep Deprivation and Enlightenment are two sides of the same coin. Buddha laughed because he understood. We laughed at Charlie Brown because he, too, understood.
Pain is humor. This is part of the Truth. Remember that the next time you stub your toe or break your leg or hurt yourself in one of those clumsy ways in which only we humans can.
And - while you ponder that - listen to this.
